Hawa Turay has worked in the health care profession for the past 14 years and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Health Promotions, from East London University, in 2009.
Earlier in her educational career, she attained Access to Health and Nursing in 2000; Diploma in Health and Social Care and NVQ Level 2 in 2009
In 2000, she worked at Westminster homes where she cared for elderly people which helped her to develop virtues in compassion, personal care, documentation and exposed her to a multicultural society.
She is presently working with the Sanctuary group at Hawthorn Green Nursing Home as a Health Care Assistant.
During her career, she has learned how to promote health education in the society, including smoking, excessive consumption of alcohol, caring for people and healthy eating.
She has worked as Hospitality Supervisor at Avemance in 2000 and also in the customer service at Tesco and Sainsbury.
She has an understanding and knowledge of how to assist in maintaining personal hygiene, including giving personal care where appropriate. This has been demonstrated through personal experience as a parent and support worker.
