A unique advanced qualification in Careers Information and Advice for practitioners who are intending to pursue as career as Careers Advisers, Personal Advisers, working in schools, Colleges, University and other educational and training provision. Ideal for practitioners who are keen to ensure the delivery of a coherent and coordinated approach to delivering information, advice and guidance. The course focuses on the models of practice in advice and guidance, however practitioners can ensure that individuals are making informed choices about their career options and also focuses on delivery of effective careers education advice and guidance in schools, colleges, universities and organizations.

Above all, practical, which is the work placement is always our priority and its must for all our student to undergo for excellent skills and experience.

Course Structure

The course covers in depth and to an advanced level all aspects of providing careers support and guidance and the course includes the following modules.

  • Preparing to work in the career information, advice and guidance sector
  • Reflect on and improve professional practice career guidance theory
  • Agree the purpose of client-centered career guidance interviews and maintain communication with clients
  • Explore and agree the career guidance and development needs of clients
  • Use career and Labour market Information with clients
  • Work with other agencies for the benefit of clients and the organization

    • Entry Requirements

    There are no formal entry requirements for entry to this qualification which is open to anyone who is capable of reaching the required standards and meeting the assessment criteria for the units through the particular setting in which they practice. It has been developed free from any barriers that restrict access or progression thereby promoting equal opportunities.

    Duration

    Usually 12 months but for those in a suitable role and with prior experience this time will be reduced.

    Pathways

    This is a higher level qualification for practitioners who wish to specialize in Careers Guidance, planning and development. And can lead to masters level qualification with a UK university or further post graduate study with a GABIC or one of our partners.
