This program in Tourism and Management provides professionals and managers in the field with all essential skills to deliver tourism and to manage services in travel, tourism and hospitality industries. The focus is on advanced management skills and sustainability. Intended primarily for those who are working in or aspire to work in middle to senior management role in tourism. It focuses on underpinning knowledge and practical skills in sustainable tourism management. The courses are integrated into key work or business objectives, targets and projects. Ask for our lower level such as level 1 – 4.

The program enables successful participants to demonstrate advanced skills for in tourism management for diverse roles and further development options include an MSc and many universities will offer a much quicker route to gaining the latter due to the exemptions and crediot to be gained from the PGDip.

Course Structure

Students are provided with a modular approach to achieving skills and knowledge in areas relevant to their own industry or function of management. For the Adv Dip 4 units must be achieved and to achieve the full PgDip the full 7 units Units:

  • Tourism management in a global and sustainable context
  • Tourism planning and sustainability
  • International law and compliance issues
  • Managing customer service in Tourism
  • Sustainable development (International and European)
  • Environmental management (incorporating air pollution, environmental risk management, and other EM areas)
  • Project-work eg tourism, development, tourism business strategy etc.

    • Entry Requirements

    This unique course requires you to be in suitable tourism management role and ideally a good honours degree or management qualification. We may consider students with significant experience and an alternative professional or further education qualification.

    Pathways

    The programme enables successful participants to demonstrate senior/executive management skills for diverse roles and further development options include the MBA and many universities will offer a much quicker route due to the exemptions and credit to be gained from the PGDip

    Duration

    Usually 8 – 10 months for the Adv.Dip and 12 months for the PgDip but early achievement of work-based objectives will reduce this time. Ask for our lower level, such as level 1 – 4.

    Costs

  • £ 950 for the Advanced Diploma and £ 1,400 for the PgDip (UK/EU students);
  • International students – £ 2,500 and £ 3,100
